A vessel for sludge dewatering is proposed which has a filter insert (2), the tubular steel frame of which is part of a heating system. A heat transport medium flows through the tubes of the tubular steel frame, which heat transport medium is heated by a continuous heater (14). The vessel (1) can thus be used for sludge dewatering even at low ambient temperatures without there being any fear of the filter insert (2) freezing up. <IMAGE>
