An abseiling harness is described for attaching a person to an abseiling device, having a hip strap (1) which surrounds the person's body and having two leg straps (2, 3) whose ends (2', 3') are arranged on the hip strap (1) along its circumference. The two ends (11, 12) of the hip strap (1) and the two free ends (2'', 3'') of the two leg straps (2, 3) can be attached together to the abseiling device. Furthermore, two shoulder straps (4, 5) are attached centrally by their ends (4', 5') to the hip strap (1) and are attached by their other ends (4'', 5'') in the vicinity thereof to the hip strap (1). <IMAGE>
