WELDING METHOD FOR LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL

PURPOSE:To stabilize welding and to increase yield by blowing off an electrolyte on the terminal connecting part of a post by air just before terminal connection is made. CONSTITUTION:An electrolyte is poured in a cell container, and a cover is bonded to the container. When terminal connection is made to a post extruded from the cover by welding, sulfuric acid existing on a terminal welding part 3a is blown off with an air nozzle 6 as shown as 5a. A welding tool 7 is fit to a terminal 3 and welding is made with a welding burner 8. Since the post and the terminal welding part 3a are clear by blowing off the sulfuric acid, terminal welding is surely made without disturbance by the oxide film.
