EXHAUST TIMING CONTROLLER IN 2-CYCLE ENGINE

PURPOSE:To reduce the leakage of exhaust gas in a swing valve body for opening and closing the upper edge of an exhaust port of a 2-cycle engine by making the lateral width of the port opening side end of valve body larger than that of the port opening and converging said width successively toward the port opening. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust port of a 2-cycle engine is provided with a valve body 15 swung about a shaft 14 to open and close the upper edge of a port opening 9. The lateral width of the port opening 9 side end of valve body 15 is formed larger than that of port opening 9 to converge successively from the exhaust port side edge for receiving the valve body 15 toward the port opening. Thus, a gap g is provided between an end of the valve body 15 and an end of the opening 9 to be reduced substantially compared with that in the lateral width not converging toward the port opening.
