A vibration sensor is formed from a laminated piezoelectric element having a length which comprises a polymer or ceramic piezoelectric sheet and a metal sheet having a bending elasticity and bonded to at least one surface of the piezoelectric sheet so that an electrical output can be taken out from both surfaces of the piezoelectric sheet. At least one part along the length of the laminated piezoelectric element is fixed to leave a vibratable end. A vibration sensor thus formed effectively utilizes a piezoelectric constant of elongation d31 and is improved not only in handling characteristic but also in output and frequency characteristics.
