Disclosed is a blood-purifying regenerated cellulose membrane composed of regenerated cellulose, a blood-contacting surface of said membrane being coated with a polymeric substance. The polymeric substance is a homopolymer or copolymer of a basic vinyl monomer having an amino group in the side chain. The membrane is characterized in that the occurrence of the leukopenia phenomenon and the activation of the complement system are mitigated and such improved properties can last for a long period.
