<p>A modular rotary disc drive or disc file has three major subassemblies. These are a rotary actuator structure subassembly (3) having an actuator housing (32) and a pivotally mounted actuator member (3l) in said housing, an armstack subassembly (5) including the transducer heads (52) and their electric circuits including the plug terminal (54d) therefore, and a magnetic driver subassembly (7) having a magnetic housing (7l) and a movable coil assembly (74).</p><p>The armstack subassembly (5) is attached and removed from the actuator member (3l) without removing the actuator member from the actuator housing (32). The magnetic housing (7l) of the magnetic driver subassembly (7) is secured to the actuator housing (32) and its moving coil assembly (74) is secured to the actuator member (3l). This magnetic driver subassembly (7) is also attached and removed as a unit without removing the actuator member (3l) from the actuator housing (32). </p> |
