PURPOSE:To enable reliable opening and closing of a weighing valve with excellent response even to high pressure fuel, by a method wherein, by means of a driving force utilizing a differential pressure, generated by escaping a part of high pressure fuel, and a back pressure by the high pressure fuel, the weighing valve is opened and closed. CONSTITUTION:With an electromagnetic valve 36 closed in a discharge process in which fuel in a pressure chamber 26 is pressurized, a pressure in a spring chamber 35B serving as a back pressure chamber is increased, and a valve body 35A of a weighing valve 35 is pressed in a valve closing direction for closing. This closing forces high pressure fuel to be fed through the pressure chamber 26 in a fuel passage 29, and injection of fuel through an injection nozzle 27 is started. When the electromagnetic valve 36 is opened after elapse of a given time commencing with the starting of injection, the pressure in the spring chamber 35B is released through a second fuel escaping passage 28, and as a result, a weighing valve 36 opens a first fuel escaping passage 31. Since high pressure fuel in the fuel passage 29 flows to a first fuel escaping passage 31 communicated with the low pressure side, injection of fuel through the injection nozzle 27 is stopped. |
