EXHAUST TIMING CONTROLLER IN 2-CYCLE ENGINE

PURPOSE:To increase a swing angle for increasing the edge thickness and the thermal capacity of the edge portion of a valve body housing section in a swing valve body for opening and closing the upper edge of an exhaust port of a 2-cycle engine by swinging a shaft in the valve body end with a pivot provided outside the intermediate position of the valve body. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust port 15 of a 2-cycle engine is provided with a swing valve 19 to open and close the upper edge of a port opening 15. This valve body 19 has a shaft 23 at its end vertically moved by a lever swinging about a shaft 25 projecting from the outside of central portion of valve body 19 so that the opening 15 side end is swung. Since the swing angle of valve body 19 can be increased compared with that of said valve body swung about the shaft 23, an angle theta1 made with the cylinder side edge 28 in housing the valve body 19 can be increased and the edge 28 is thickened so that the thermal capacity is increased to prevent the edge from overheat.
