PURPOSE:To attain the slight feed of a step motor by adding a slight feed circuit for step motor to the step motor itself and inserting the 1st digital compensation filter into a circulation loop of a magnetic head positioning control system. CONSTITUTION:The 1st digital compensation filter 2 has the sector number (q) and the sample time T. Then the output (a) of the filter 2 obtained before a time point (q.T) is added to the present position error signal (e). This addition value (a') is outputted to the 2nd compensation filter 3 after the time point (q.T). Then the filter 3 calculates the balanced point address value (u) of a double phase linear step motor 5 and always outputs the address value (u) of the motor 5 to a slight feed circuit 4 after the time DELTA of the T. The circuit 4 supplies the currents (b) and (b') corresponding to the output value (u) of the filter 3 to each phase of the motor 5 and positions a magnetic head 6 onto a data track.
