Substituted N-3-(5-trifluoromethyl-pyridyl-2-oxy)phenyl-N'-benzoylureas of the formula <IMAGE> +TR <IMAGE> wherein R1, R2 and R3 independently of one another are each hydrogen, methyl, fluorine, chlorine or bromine, and R4 is hydrogen or chlorine, with the proviso that R3 is methyl, fluorine, chlorine or bromine when R4 is chlorine, are active substances having an insecticidal and, in particular, acaricidal action. They can be advantageously used to combat zooparasitic and phytoparasitic ectoparasites.
