PURPOSE:To make front width of a machine tool smaller, by installing a work head, to be attached to a tip of a driving unit, of the machine tool to be set up successively in a transfer line, in a stocker, and using this work head upon being changed automatically. CONSTITUTION:A swivel body 25 divides work heads M supported on both outer sides 25a and 25b into an upper position A and a lower position B, and the work head M divided into the lower position B is attached to a driving unit 12 and machines a workpiece. During this machining, the machined work head M divided into the upper position A is put back to a return position E of an upper stage part 53 or a lower stage part 52 of a stocker 50 by a delivery device 30. The work head M to be used in the next is transferred to the lower stage part 52 of the stocker 50 or a stand-by position D of the upper stage part 53 by transfer devices 60, 63 and 66 and an elevator device 70, and carried in the upper position A by a carry-in device 45, then it is supported by the swivel body 25. If machining is over, these work heads M are separated from these stage parts and supported by the swivel body 25, then changed with the next work head M.
