PURPOSE:To reduce setting space, by constituting an article transfer feeder such that a work can be intermittently fed and stopped correctly for each station while stably held in each station. CONSTITUTION:An article transfer feeder provides a guide rail 1 to be arranged along the first - fifth work processing stations I-V successively provided in a line spacing the same distance L between the centers from each other. And the feeder, which provides work hand devices 61-64 to be respectively arranged in the first - fourth stations I-IV, arranges driving mechanisms 11-17 reciprocating each of these hand devices 61-64 along the guide rail 1 by a distance corresponding to the before said distance L between the centers. Further the transfer feeder provides work holding members 25, 26 to be arranged so that they hold a work W, clamped by each hand device 61-64, in a predetermined position in the next positioned station, where the work W is transfer fed, in no relation to the release action of the hand devices 61-64. By simplified basic constitution such as in the above, the transfer feeder, which eliminates the necessity for wide setting space and enables the cost of equipment to be also reduced, is obtained.
