PURPOSE:To easily display a stereoscopic picture excellent in color reproduction by changing over alternately the picture in the left visual field and the picture in the right visual field at a suitable time interval and displaying and alternately interrupting the right and left visual fields of an observer synchronously therewith. CONSTITUTION:A change over control part 4 alternately inputs the two types of the pictures generated in a picture signal generating part 3 and corresponding to the pictures in the right and the left visual fields to a display part 1 by changing over a control signal at the prescribed cycle and at the same time, alternately interrupts one of the visual fields by controlling the shutter of a spectacle part 2. An observer for observing the display of a display part 1 by mounting the spectacle part 2 can see the display of the picture in the left visual field only by the left eye with the visual field of the right eye interrupted during a certain period and this is repeated. Accordingly, by setting a suitable change over cycle, the observer can obtain a stereoscopic feeling by an after image. Thereby, the displayed pictures in the respective visual fields may be videos using an ordinary color and have no constraint on the color reproduction. |
