PURPOSE:To recognize the practical traveling steps out of program steps by adding the number of traveling steps of a library function automatically built in by a complier or the like. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and 2nd programs are stored in an addressed storage device 2, and every execution of one instruction in the 1st program, the 2nd program can recognize the address of the instruction executed or to be executed by the 1st program. The 1st program is divided into plural program modules (P1-Pn), and at the tracing of traveling steps in each program module, the traveling steps of a program module (library function L1) of which a programmer is unconscious are included in the traveling steps of a module P4 accessing the library function L1 and counted up.
