<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate the handling of a jam occurring at the upstream side of a fixing means or the maintenance operation of various components by forming a recording medium conveyance means arranged at the downstream side so that it can rotate integrally following up the split opening of an upper main body. CONSTITUTION:The upper main body B and lower main body C can be split and opened around a fulcrum A of rotation formed at a side wall corner part below the exit side of a fixing unit 1 and the split surface D is drooped from the exit side of the fixing unit 11 along a recording medium conveyance path on the upstream side of the fixing unit 11 or along rotating frames 24 and 24' of a cover body 23 on the downstream side of the fixing unit 11 to surround the fulcrum A of rotation positioned below the recording medium conveyance path. Then, an L-shaped lock part 25 is fitted on the paper feed side upper end of the lower main body C and a lock lever 26 which engages the lock part 25 is fitted on the side of the upper main body B facing the lock part 25, so that the upper main body B is closed or split and opened through the engaging operation of the lock lever 26.</p> |
