SILVER HALIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To form a silver halide photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity and less thermal fogging by having silver halide particles of which the particle surface consists of silver iodobromide and which have a 110 crystal plane on the outside surface and has core/shell structure higher in silver iodobromide content in the inside than on the particle surface. CONSTITUTION:This photosensitive material has at least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layers which contain the silver halide particles having the particle surface consisting of the silver bromide or silver iodobromide and having the 110 crystal plane on the outside surface and the core/shell structure having the silver iodide content higher in the inside than on the particle surface and gelatin as a binder and are hardened by an org. hardening agent to release an org. or inorg. acid by reacting with the gelatin. A 100 plane, 111 plane, etc., may exist in addition to the 110 plane on the surface of the silver halide particles and the ratio of the 110 plane to the total surface area is particularly preferably >=80%.
