摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the traveling stability particularly in cornering operation by judging the condition for restricting the differential mechanism of a center diff mechanism from the output signals of a road surface state detecting means and a car traveling state detecting means and controlling a clutch for center diff. CONSTITUTION:The captioned apparatus is equipped with a camera 1 for photographing the road surface state in the direction of advance, video memory 2, image processor 3 for dividing the video signals to the signals corresponding to three primary colors of light, road surface temperature sensor 4, and a frictional coefficient calculating circuit 5, which judges the road surface state, and the frictional coefficient mu is calculated on the basis of the result of the judgement. The result of the calculation is input, together with the result of the calculation in a driving force calculating circuit 8, brake power calculating circuit 10, and a grounded-load calculating circuit 14, into a clutch pressure calculating circuit 17. In said calculating circuit 17, a clutch for center diff which preestimates the tight braking phenomenon, slip, lock, etc. and restricts the differential mechanism of a center diff mechanism is controlled through a solenoid 18.
