<p>PURPOSE:To continue the operation of a computer even if abnormality is generated in an individual fan by calculating the air capacity loss of the whole fans, comparing the calculated value with a reference value, and only when the air capacity exceeds the reference value, stopping the operation of the computer. CONSTITUTION:The rotational speeds of fans 1a-1n for cooling the constitutional units of the computer are always supervised by rotational speed detectors 2a-2n during the operation of the computer. The detecting signals of the detectors 2a-2n are inputted to a lossed air capacity calculating part 6 to calculate the whole air capacity loss. An output from the calculating part 6 is inputted to a lossed capacity comparing part 8 and compared with a reference value generated from a loss reference value generating part 7, and when it is decided that the lossed air capacity exceeds the reference value, an interruption generating part 3 generates an interruption to a CPU 5 to stop the operation of the computer.</p> |
