<p>PURPOSE:To obtain water based ink which gives a printed image having excellent water resistance by ink jet recording, by using a water-soluble dye composed of a specified azobenzene or naphthalene-azobenzene, an org. solvent and water as main components. CONSTITUTION:The water based ink contains the following water-soluble dye, an org. solvent and water as main components. As said water-soluble dye, an azobenzene derivative and/or a naphthalene-azobenzene derivative are/is used, said derivative having both a hydrophilic structure moiety and a hydrophobic structure moiety. Examples of the hydrophilic groups are sulfo and carboxyl groups and Na, K and Li salts thereof, -NPR' group (wherein R and R' are each a member selected from the group consisting of H, CH3, etc.) and hydroxyl group, etc. Examples of the hydrophobic structure moiety are long-chain alkyl groups having the formula (wherein n>=8). If desired, the water based ink may contain a pH adjustor and a mildeproofing agent. However, it is not necessary to add a surface tension modifier.</p> |
