COLOR IMAGE RECORDING MATERIAL AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PURPOSE:To obtain a color image having excellent resolving power and good image shelf life with a simple method by utilizing microcapsules and using light and heat and/or pressure. CONSTITUTION:Multiple layers combined with at least >=2 kinds of the layers essentially consisting of (a) the microcapsules mainly contg. a photosetting resin or the microcapsules mainly contg. the photosetting resin and coloring agent, (b) white shielding material and (c) coloring agent are provided on a base. The white shielding layer essentially consisting of the white shielding material is provided on a picture element layer disposed with >=2 colors of picture elements consisting of the microcapsules mainly contg. the photosetting resin and coloring agent or coloring agent in a stripe or mosaic shape. The entire surface is heated and/or pressurized after exposure by which the microcapsules in the unexposed part are broken down and the liquid material included therein is released therefrom and is migrated to the white shielding layer, by which the white shielding layer is made selectively transparent.
