PURPOSE:To make it possible to steer the rear wheels accurately in a simple and low cost composition, by finding the ideal rear wheel steering angle depending on the car speed and the front wheel steerage ability, and steering the rear wheels to coincide to the ideal rear wheels steering angle. CONSTITUTION:A front wheel steerage sensor 2 detects the steering ability and steering maintaining ability of a steering handle 1, and outputs the front wheel steerage signal responding to these abilities. The running speed sensor 3 detects the car speed and outputs the running speed signal responding to the running speed. While both detected signals from the sensors 2 and 3 are input to a control unit 4, a rear wheel ideal steering angle is computed in the control unit 4 depending on the detected signals, and outputs a power to rotate an electric motor 5 for the rear wheel steering. In this case, depending on a function f(v), which comes from zero to a positive value when the running speed exceeds a specific value, and increases as the car speed increases, and the steerage F, the ideal rear wheel steering angle thetaR is computed through the formula : thetaR=FXf(v). |
