PURPOSE:To largely open a roof opened port by constituting a sliding roof for opening and closing an opened port formed longer in the longitudinal direction on the roof of an automobile, from the front and rear parts and opening a cover by forming the front and rear roof parts into two-stage superposed state. CONSTITUTION:In the cover closing state, a sliding roof 10 is constituted of the first sliding roof 11 for closing the front part of a roof opened port 2 and the second sliding roof 12 for closing the rear part of the opened port 2. The roofs 11 and 12 are guiding-slided along the front and rear roof guides 41 and 42, and the roof 11 is equipped with a tilt-up mechanism 20 which lifts up the roof 11 to the upper position than that of the roof 12, interlocked with the rearward pulling operation. Further, the rear side roof guide 42 is equipped with a connecting mechanism 30 for connecting the both roofs 11 and 12 in two-stage superposed state and in free engagement state. When the both roofs 11 and 12 open the cover, the roof 11 can be opened by about 2/3 in the direction of a body.
