PURPOSE:To obtain the titled product tearable into two large strips at a plane containing center line by a slight force, by using a special die of shape in which two openings are provided on the inlet side corresponding to the tip of a twin- screw extruder are joined in the course thereof and integrated into one opening. CONSTITUTION:A vegetable protein is passed through a special die 1 of shape in which two openings 3 provided on the inlet side corresponding to the tip of two screws of a twin-screw extruder are joined in the course thereof and integrated into one opening at the outlet side, then through a cooling nozzle, extruded and formed. Thereby the aimed tissual vegetable protein product tearable into two large stripes by a slight force, e.g. hand force, etc., at a plane containing center line and divided into fine fibers and having good meatlike sense of eating is obtained.
