FITTING STRUCTURE OF WAVEGUIDE ROD FOR ACOUSTIC EMISSION SENSOR

PURPOSE:To obtain a sufficiently stable waveguide rod pressing force by fitting a waveguide rod to a body to be tested by utilizing a spring and a spring force adjusting screw. CONSTITUTION:A fitting pedestal 34 with a cylinder part 34 is fixed to the body 31 to be tested by a fixing band 35 and a male screw 34b is cut in the outer peripheral surface of the cylinder part 34a. Further, a female screw 37a is cut in the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical spring force adjusting screw 37 and then engaged threadably with the male screw 34b. Further, the waveguide rod 32 which is coupled with an acoustic emission sensor 33 is abutted on the object 31 through the adjusting screw 37 and the cylinder part 34a of the pedestal 34. Then a force which presses the waveguide rod 32 against the object 31 is applied by a spring 36 which is energized between a spring receiver 38 and the end part 37b of the adjusting screw 37 and adjusted by rotating the adjusting screw 37. Consequently, the pressing force to the waveguide rod 32 is easily adjusted to obtain the stable waveguide rod pressing force.
