PURPOSE:To prevent the registration of the same operation mode by providing an operation mode storage means storing a picture processing function as the operation mode and a means limiting the storage of the same operation mode as the operation mode stored already. CONSTITUTION:When the operation section 4 gives a command to register the picture processing function during being set at present as the operation mode, a control section 1 writes the operation mode during being set in an operation mode storage means 5 and displays it on a display device 4b. When the same operation mode as the operation mode written already in the means 5, the control section 1 limits the write to the means 5 to improve the memory efficiency. When a read command from the switch 4a is inputted to the control section 1, the control section 1 accesses the means 5, reads the stored operation mode and sets it. When a picture forming command is given from the operation section 4, the control section 1 controls a picture input means 2 according to the set operating mode, sends the read picture information to the picture means 3 to form the picture.
