PURPOSE:To reduce the differential pressure of a passage when a liq. is treated and to prevent the clogging of the passage even when a liq. contg. suspended particles is treated by using a material having protruding streaks as the passage material in a separation membrane, and forming a cavity for a raw liq. passage between the adjacent separation membranes. CONSTITUTION:In a spiral module, a passage material 16 such as a net or a porous material having liq. permeability is inserted in the bag-shaped separation membrane 14 whose periphery is sealed. Plural protruded streaks 16a extending in the winding direction of the separation membrane 14 is provided to the passage material 16, and a cavity 18 for a liq. passage is formed between the separation membranes 14 to the height of the protruding streak 16a. The raw liq. introduced from the outer peripheral side of the separation membrane 14 flows in the cavity 18 and is filtered. The permeated liq. is introduced into the separation membrane 14, guided by the passage material 16, and discharged to the outside of the module through a water collecting pipe.
