PURPOSE:To enhance the raw preservability, thermal responsiveness and thermal color forming property of a thermal recording material, by forming said recording material by applying a recording layer containing a diazo compound, a coupling compound and a thiohydroquinone derivative to a support. CONSTITUTION:A coating solution containing a diazo compound, a coupling component, a thiohydroquinone and other additives is prepared and applied to a support such as paper or a synthetic resin film by a bar coating process and dried to form a thermal recording material having a recording layer with solid content of 2.5-25g/m<2>. As the thiohydroquinone derivative, a compound represented by formula (wherein Ar is an aryl group and IR is a divalent group) is designated. As the coupling component, there are resolcine, phloroglucin, sodium 2,3-dihydroxynaphthalene-6-sulfonate etc. |
