PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a catalyst for organic syntheses and high polymer reactions by a simple operation, by reacting bis(diphenylphosphino)amine with a halide compound in the presence of both an alkali metallic carbonate and a lower alcohol. CONSTITUTION:A compound shown by formula I is reacted with a halide compound shown by formula RX (R is alkyl or aralkyl; X is Cl, Br or I) in the presence of both an alkali metal carbonate(preferably potassium carbonate) and a lower alcohol, especially methanol in a molar ratio of 2mol halide compound, preferably a little excess amount, under reflux by heating for 5-8hr to give a bis(alkyldiphenylphosphine or aralkyldiphenylphosphine)iminium salt shown by formula II.
