PURPOSE:To detect the displacement of a measurement member accurately at low cost by receiving the displacement of the measurement member as a load and transducing it into variation in pressure, and detecting the displacement based on the variation. CONSTITUTION:Variation in vehicle height is transmitted as variation in load to a rod through a spring 1 and the rod 2 is displaced linearly according to the variation. The load placed on the rod 2, on the other hand, is transduced by a transducing means 12 into variation in pressure, which is led out as an electric output by a pressure sensing means 5, indicating the vehicle height. Thus, the deviation in the vehicle height is transduced as the load into the pressure variation in the linear displacement and the vehicle height is detected based on the variation in pressure. Therefore, neither conversion to rotary displacement nor a rotary slide part is required and the device is prevented from becoming complex. Consequently, the durability is improved and the cost is reduced.
