WATER-STOPPING SYSTEM FOR GATE

PURPOSE:To reduce damage to a water-stopping rubber by a method in which a water conveyance hole through which a back pressure is applied by head pressures is led to the back side of the water-stopping rubber of a dam gate in such a way as to delay the effect of back pressure as much as possible. CONSTITUTION:A rubber-receiving base 5 is fitted through a filler 6 into a water-tight fitting metal 4 attached to the tail race 3 of a dam body 2. A water- stopping rubber 7 and a presser metal 8 are attached to the base 5. A water conveyance hole 9 is provided in the back side of the rubber 7 to direct the back pressure of the rubber 7. Head pressure thus acts at the same time as the gate 1 and the lower part of the rubber 7 are slid and closed or slightly later and the rubber 7 closely contacts with the gate 1. Therefore, damage to the rubber 7 when the gate 1 moves in a sliding manner can be reduced.
