A baked food is prepared in a flexible bag. This initially holds the ingredients which are kneaded into a dough by mechanically working the material through the bag. Subsequently the bag is baked in an oven to produce the final product. The bag carries machine-readable codes, esp. a bar code, which is used to control the appts. e.g. the duration of the baking phase. - Pref. the bag is an elongated tube which is reciprocated by a pair of rolls so that it passes through a narrow slot which performs the kneading action. Pref. the baking oven surrounds the bag.
