PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of purification of exhaust gas and to prolong life for a catalyst, by a method wherein a number of fine spherical catalysts for purifying treatment of exhaust gas are situated in a place in the combustion gas flow passage of an air preheater, heat-exchanging between combustion exhaust gas and air for combustion. CONSTITUTION:Air preheated in an air preheater 11 is mixed within a combustion chamber 8 with fuel injected through a fuel nozzle 7 for combustion. Heat is imparted on working gas from a heat exchanger 9. The temperature of combustion gas is about 800 deg.C on the downstream of the heat exchanger 9, but the temperature gradually decreases in the air preheater 11, and the temperature of combustion gas decreases to about 500 deg.C at the given part of a combustion gas flow passage. Spherical catalysts 4 are situated in the combustion gas flow passage, where the temperature of combustion gas decreases to about 500 deg.C, or in a portion where the temperature of combustion gas is kept at temperature at which an exhaust purifying effect increases and which is also preferable in the terms of a life. The air preheater 11 is formed in a multicylindrical shape, and this constitution lengthens the distance of a flow passage for air and combustion gas, resulting in provision of a space speed at which exhaust purifying efficiency can be increased. |
