<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of the variance of the displaying contrast of a liquid crystal and to improve reliability by using a passive matrix system, making one side electrode common and providing an optical detecting element, overlapping it in the upper direction or the lower direction corresponding to respective pixels of a displaying device. CONSTITUTION:One pixel 1 provided on a substrate is composed of an optical detecting element (photo sensor) 4 and a displaying element 3. One side electrode 5 (first electrode) of the displaying element is linked to a Y wiring (called also 'lead') 18 and the Y wiring is simultaneously linked to the third electrode 7 of the photo sensor 4. On the other hand, the other electrode (fourth electrode) 8 of the photo sensor 4 is linked to an X wiring led 16 provided by a conducting film on the substrate, as the result, the photo sensor is provided at the intersection of the wiring to constitute X16 and Y18 matrixes and the base substance is composed of these. The displaying element 3 is linked to the second translucent electrode 6 provided on other substrate facing one side electrode 5 (first electrode) and linked to a Z wiring 14.</p> |
