PURPOSE:To run smoothly an internal combustion engine over the whole range by providing a predetermined annealing fuel amount calculating section and a transient period selecting section for supplying the annealing fuel amount to the transient internal combustion engine in an only one fuel amount selecting means applied to the internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:A running condition detecting means C1 for detecting intake air amount, intake pipe pressure, throttle opening, rotational frequency, etc. of an internal combustion engine EG transmits a predetermined one of detected results to a fuel injection amount calculating means C2 and a selecting means C3. In this case, the selecting means C3 is provided with a calculating section C3-A operated during a transient period when A condition under which the fuel amount calculated by said means C2 is selected is altered to the condition under which the fuel amount calculated by said another means C2 is selected. An annealing fuel amount is calculated by weighing said each fuel amount on the basis of the results of detecting selected standard items. Also, the selecting means C3 is provided with a transient period selecting means C3-B to select the annealing fuel amount only during said transient period.
