PURPOSE:To ensure a proper increase in fuel supply for starting an engine in a cold condition and a proper decrease therein after an engine start by molding a spring of shape memory metal opposite to an actuator for controlling a fuel control lever toward a fuel increment direction under turbocharged pressure. CONSTITUTION:The subject pump is equipped with a pump body 10, a boost compensator 7 and a governor 13. A spring 31 constituting a part of an actuator in the boost compensator 7 is molded from a shape memory alloy and made to contract at temperature below a predetermined level. The spring 31 when cold, therefore, shrinks and a rod 30 becomes free to move, thereby turning a stop lever 9 in a counter-clockwise direction. As a result, a fuel adjustment lever 24 is shifted by an acceleration lever 16 toward a direction for increasing fuel supply, thereby ensuring the easy start of an engine. On the other hand, when a start switch 28 has been closed, a timer 27 works after an elapse of predetermined time and an electric current runs from a battery 29 to the spring 31. Consequently, the spring 31 elongates and a fuel injection quantity is reduced.
