PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation of the activity of a reform catalyst, so as to enable stable operation of the fuel cell in the caption to be carried out reliably for a long period by providing an electrolyte removing material which removes an electrolyte or material generated from the electrolyte for fuel gas. CONSTITUTION:Between a fuel gas side electrode 2 and a reforming catalyst 7 is interposed an electrolyte removing material 8 which is capable of removing for fuel gas an electrolyte or material generated from the electrolyte by, for example, chemical reaction. Therefore, the electrolyte or the material generated from the electrolyte included in the fuel gas returning from the fuel gas side electrode 2 to a fuel gas path and the electrolyte removing material 8 are removed by chemical reaction. Thus the reforming catalyst 7 is prevented from being contaminated by the electrolyte or the material generated from the electrolyte, to enable the catalytic activity of the reforming catalyst to be maintained stably for a long period of time. |
