POST-PROCESSOR FOR RECORDING PAPER

PURPOSE:To remove the restriction of paper binding based upon the number of sheets and to improve appearance and reliability by providing plural staplers having the different numbers of application sheets respectively to staple plural sheets sent from a recording device under a collated state and executing paper binding by a stapler corresponding to the number of copies based on the data for the number of copies obtained from the copying machine side. CONSTITUTION:Recording sheets 2 discharged on an intermediate tray 14 and successively collated by a belt 15 are stapled at their end parts by a stapler 20 after consecutive recording. The stapler 20 consist of the 1st and 2nd staplers 20A, 20B and respective recording sheets 2 are collated on a binding position. Which stapler 20A or 20B is to be driven is determined in accordance with the number of collated recording sheets 2. Either one of staplers 20A, 20B is selected in accordance with the data for the number of copies supplied from the copying machine body side at the time of stapling and a motor M3 is driven so that the selected stapler is moved to the stapling position.
