PURPOSE:To enable an effective utilization of thermal energy of fuel by a method wherein each of far-infrared ray radiator is connected in series, an outlet of a final stage far-infrared radiator is connected to a heat exchanger and a preheated air inlet of a mixing unit of the first stage far-infrared ray radiator is connected to an air inlet pipe through a heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:Air fed from an air inlet pipe 13 is heated by a preheater 15, mixed with fuel in a preheating mixing unit 16, ignited within a preheating catalyst combustion unit 17 and then supplied to a first-stage mixing unit 8a. The preheated air and fuel are mixed with each other, ignited in a catalyst combustion unit 7a, flow through the first-stage radiator 1a and then a far- infrared ray is radiated from a fra-infrared ray radiation surface 4. Combustion gas outputted from an outlet port 3 is mixed with fuel at the second-stage mixing unit 8b, ignited in a catalyst combustion unit 7b and temperature of combustion gas is increased again. The combustion gas flows through the second-stage radiator 1b and then flows into the next mixing unit 8c under the same manner as that of the first-stage. A discharge gas from the final-stage radiator 1d enters the heat exchanger 12 and subsequently the preheated air is provided through a heat exchanger 12.
