Safety device for ploughs and similar tools, especially for simple and reversible ploughs allowing the plough body to undergo a retraction movement about its articulation point on the beam 4 when the ploughshare encounters an obstacle. This device comprises, for this purpose, an energy accumulator 6 fixed by one end to the beam 1 in the vicinity of the articulation point of the latter on the beam 4, its other end interacting with locking means 9, 10, 14, 17 which are securely fastened to the beam 1 and connected to a fixed point of the beam 4; this energy accumulator 6 is situated in a plane substantially perpendicular to that comprising at least one prop.
