PURPOSE:To adjust simply and accurately the optical axis direction of a lens by fitting a specific adjusting ring to a lens barrel. CONSTITUTION:The thickness of the adjusting ring 12 in contact with a taper surface 14b of a lens barrel supporting board 14 is set up to B and C, and when B=C is formed, the center position O of the curvature of the lens barrel 10 is defined as the original point of X-Y coordinates. To move the position O in the X-axis direction, the lens barrel 10 is rotated in the counterclockwise (CCD) direction. If the thickness B is increased by DELTAB and decreased by DELTAC due to said rotation, the moving distance (d) of the position O is expressed by d=DELTAB sintheta-DELTACsintheta. At that time, DELTAB=DELTAC is the condition for inhibiting the movement of the position O in the Y direction. Since the thickness of the ring 12 is set up as mentioned above, the front center position of the lens barrel 10 abutted on the tape surface 14a is not moved when the center position of the lens barrel 10 at the position on which the ring 12 is fitted is moved, so that the center axis (optical axis) of the lens barrel 10 is changed.
