<p>PURPOSE:To ensure the ignition of carbon-state fine particles and eliminate inconveniences due to the excessive deposit of said particles by supplying combustion air having oxygen density higher than exhaust gas to an ignition device for burning the particles stagnating on an exhaust gas filter. CONSTITUTION:The exhaust gas passage of a diesel engine is fitted with an exhaust gas filter device 1. And a filter case 4 is fitted with an exhaust gas filter 2 via a cushion material 3, and an ignitor 5 is positioned close to a filter inlet 11, thereby forming an ignition part. In the aforesaid constitution, an air supply passage 6 is provided around the ignitor 5 and fitted with a blower 7 and an oxygen enrichment device 8. And when soots in exhaust gases 12 arrested by the exhaust gas filter 2 are fired with the ignitor 5 and burnt, air of high oxygen density is supplied from the oxygen enrichment device 8 to the ignitor 5 via the blower 7, thereby ensuring the ignition and combustion of soots.</p> |
