<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the dispersion of characteristics and to improve the yield of a semiconductor device by using a passive matrix system as a liquid crystal display device, using one electrode in common and forming a photodetecting element superposedly over or under each pixel of the display device. CONSTITUTION:One pixel formed on a substrate consists of a photodetecting element 4 and a display element 3, one electrode 5 of the display element 3 is connected to a Y wire 18, the Y wire 18 is connected also to the 3rd electrode 7 of the photosensor 4, the other electrode 8 of the photosensor 4 is connected to an X lead wire 16 formed by a conductive film on the substrate, and the photosensor 4 is formed on an intersecting point of wires constituting a matrix of X16 and Y18 to form a base. On the other hand, one electrode 5 of the display element 3 is connected to the 2nd transmissive electrode formed on the other opposite substrate and then connected to a Z wire 14 and the X and Y wires are formed on the same insulating substrate to form the base constituting the photosensor as the matrix.</p> |
