PURPOSE:To improve the electric and heat conductivities, mechanical strength and workability of a Cu alloy contg. specified amounts of Cr, Si and P, B, As, Sb, Mn or the like by heat treating and working the Cu alloy under prescribed conditions. CONSTITUTION:A Cu alloy consisting of, by weight, 0.1-5% Cr (X), 0.5(X/5.6)-1.1(X/5.6) Si and the balance Cu of further contg. <=2% in total of one or more kinds of elements such as <=0.15% P, <=0.15% B, <=0.15% As, <=0.15% Sb, <=1% Mn, <=2% Zn and <=2% Ni is manufactured by refining. The alloy is hot worked at >=650 deg.C and cooled at once to <=400 deg.C at >=10 deg.C/sec cooling rate. It is then cold worked and heat treated at 350-650 deg.C.
