PURPOSE:To improve the life and the operability of a CRT display device by storing the luminance information of a CRT display device at a non-volatile memory and adjusting automatically the luminance by matching to the condition of use and unuse. CONSTITUTION:A luminance control program 11 refers to an executing condition table 14 and supervises always a user program 12. When the user program 12 is changed from the execution to the waiting of starting or a stopping condition, the luminance control program 11 fetches a supervising time (t) stored at a non-volatile memory 15 and supervises whether or not the change is execute at the condition of the user program 12 at the division of the supervising time (t). When the condition change is not executed at the division of the time (t), it is judged that a CRT display device 16 is in the unused condition, a luminance information B2 at the time of the unused condition stored at the non-volatile memory 15 is fetched and the luminance information B2 is set to a luminance control circuit 17. The luminance control device 17 adjusts the CRT display device 16 to the luminance at the time of the unused condition, namely, the luminance weaker than the luminance at the time of the using condition.
