PURPOSE:To facilitate a document preparation using many kinds of character fonts by providing a layout file in which layout is registered in advance. CONSTITUTION:The layout structure of a document is decided before the character input and registered in a layout file 1. Then a character is inputted from a keyboard or a sentence file 2, the characters are synthesized in a document preparing device to prepare a document of a prescribed form and the result is stored in a storage device or printed out. The routine document whose form is decided is stored in the layout file 1 in advance and the character is inputted immediately without taking the layout into consideration. The layout file 1 is generated on a display device screen of the document preparing device by using a program.
