The equipment comprises a blade (68) which is carried by an oscillating cylindrical bar (69), which has a diametral notch (71) for passage of the modules (13), and co-operates with a counterblade (59), which is supported resiliently against the bar. Two pairs of rotary blades (29, 30) are rotated synchronously in order to trim the lateral edges of the modules. The scrap (28) is cut into pieces of a limited length, and is conveyed to a container together with the scrap from the transverse cut. The modules (13) are supplied by two drive mechanisms (22, 23) which consist of sprocket belts. The mechanisms are attached so as to be adjustable on a transverse guide bar (19), and are also connected to the two opposite sides of a flexible cable (102), which can be moved by means of a knob (116) in order to move the two mechanisms symmetrically in a transverse direction. <IMAGE>
