PURPOSE:To obtain a photochromic composition remarkably improved in light responsivity and suitable for the windows of an automobile, a sun roof, and the like by using polyvinyl butyral as the polymer matrix for blending the photochromic agent. CONSTITUTION:Polyvinyl butyral is used for a part or all of the polymer matrix. For example, the polymer matrix containing polyvinyl butyral is prepared by dissolving 5g of polyvinyl butyral in 40g of a solvent mixture of methylene chloride and methanol (1:1), and a solution of the photochromic agent is prepared by dissolving 0.25g of indol-spironaphthoxazine as said agent in 5g of methylene chloride. The coating solution of the photochromic composition is obtained by mixing both solution and homogeneously dissolving said agent in polyvinyl butyral. |
