PURPOSE:To obtain a concave mirror capable of changing its focal distance without replacing the concave mirror itself by making a shape memory material store the shape of a concave mirror having a certain focal distance and deforming said shape memory material to a shape having a focal distance different from that of the concave mirror to form a different concave mirror. CONSTITUTION:The shape of a concave mirror having a certain focal distance is stored in the shape memory material 1 and the material 1 is deformed to the shape of a concave mirror having a different focal distance to form a different concave mirror. When the shape of the deformed concave mirror to be is restored to the original shape by heating the material 1, the shape is restored to the stored shape of the original concave mirror and the focal distance is changed. Thus, the focal distance of the concave mirror can be changed by a simple constitution forming a reflection film on the shape memory material shaped like a concave mirror.
