<p>PURPOSE:To uniformly maintain the temp. in the longitudinal direction of a steel product on the outlet side of a rolling mill by disposing an induction heating furnace just prior to the rolling mill and controlling the temp. of the steel product existing on the inlet side of the rolling mill during the time when a material to be rolled is rolled. CONSTITUTION:The induction heating device 3 is installed in the range A where the steel product 4 exists in front of the rolling mill 7 when the front end of the steel product arrives at the rolling mill 7 in the stage of rolling the steel product 4 with the rolling mill 7. Various sets of information on the steel product 4 to be treated are preliminarily inputted to a host program computer 8. The temp. at the front end of the steel product 4 is measured by a radiation thermometer I and is inputted to a calculator 5 which calculates the electric power to be thrown from said temp. and the information of the computer 8 and controls the induction heating device 7 via a controller 6. The temp. at the front end of the steel product 4 past the device 3 is measured by a radiation thermometer II and the electric power to be thrown is feedback-controlled. The work starting temp. is thereby made uniform in the longitudinal direction of the steel product and the uniformity of the product quality is improved.</p> |
